Great news from the PIT Skate Team....read below

Hey guys~ Here's a quick update from Shawn's most recent contest in Naples last Saturday. It was the 1st annual EAST COAST GROMORAMA CHAMPIONSHIP. Shawn and other team riders from BOARDZ participated. Some of them had already qualified for the championship, but Shawn did not enter any of the qualifiers last year. Kurt (the CEO/ Founder) of the GROMORAMA saw him skate in GA. a few weeks ago and called James Reed to invite a couple of skaters to fill slots for kids who qualified but could not make the championship. He then contacted me, and Shawn was all about it!

ANYWAY...... it's a 15 and under competition; I believe there were about 7-9 qualifiers throughout the east coast (Maine to Fl.) with the Championship held in Naples. Shawn competed in street, mini-ramp, and bowl- street being his weakest event only because he has just begun attempts to master it. There were about 20-25 (maybe a few more) kids in the intermediate mini and bowl semi's of which Shawn made the finals in both! They took the top 6 for every final. He ended up placing 6th in mini and 5th in bowl!! He was the youngest intermediate skater in each final! I am soooo proud of him! Next year he will automatically be moved from intermediate to expert as this is the format for the GROMORAMA. I was a little overwhelmed at the fact that it happened all of a sudden and it's resulted in a an east coast championship title! God is awesome!! Now we are preparing for a national competition.......Wow. Two of the biggest grom skateboarding events, back to back- within 2 weeks of each other! No doubt-----it's ALL a God thing!!!

I will try to upload and send photos asap....btw ~ Shawn's cousin established a facebook page for him. I will have to tweek it to make sure it's properly done for his safety and protection. I am going to share some photos with him so he can have them in his profile

P.S. Do you happen to have any 7.5's or camo grip tape in yet, Clint?
