Second Round of Billabong Pipeline Masters Complete

The Surfers reveled in the gently groomed four-to-six foot barrels at Pipeline yesterday, and wrapped up the remaining nine Round 2 heats of the Billabong Pipe Masters. Event Number 10 of 10 on the 2009 ASP World Tour, the Pipe Masters is the final stop of the Vans Triple Crown and the local Hawaiians ruled the day, taking six wins in nine heats.
John John Florence (pictured), 16, event wildcard and of course youngest the competitor in event, was on fire again today, threading both the Backdoor rights and the Pipeline lefts with skills of a surfer twice his age, on his way to the day’s highest heat total, an 18.90 out of a possible 20.
