The Lion fish is an effective predator. They use their long feather-like pectoral fins to herd small fish and then instantly snap them up. There is no known predator that feeds on the lion fish in the Atlantic, so its' population may grow unchecked and create havoc for fisheries and coral reefs in the years to come.
